Opened in 1993 as the Brown & Moran Brewing Company at 417 River Street in downtown Troy, NY and was the first brewery restaurant in the Capital Region. In 1995, founder and company president Garrett Brown changed the name of the entity to the Troy Brewing Company, Inc., doing business as Troy Pub & Brewery until 2004, when he changed the trade name to Brown’s Brewing Company. We’re proud to have earned a number of awards over the years, including TAP New York’s 2008 Matthew Vassar Cup for the Best Brewery in the Hudson Valley, as well as a Gold medal for our Pale Ale by the Culinary Institute of America.
